Visit from University Students and Professors of Andhra Pradesh, India

On Thursday, February 26, 2026, the University of Toyama (UT) welcomed six undergraduate students from Andhra Pradesh (AP), India, along with one professor from Sri Venkateswara University and one professor from SRM University–AP.

This visit was conducted as part of the Sakura Science Program, which was proposed and adopted by Toyama Prefecture. The program aims to promote academic exchange by inviting students from universities in AP, with which Toyama Prefecture has signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation and exchange.

In the morning session, Prof. Geetha Mohan of the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Sustainability Studies, together with UT student, introduced their research activities and student life at the university.

This was followed by a Japanese cultural experience session and a campus tour led by Lect. Park Eun-Kyung of the Organization for International Education and Exchange and international supporters.

In the afternoon, participants were divided into three groups according to their academic fields:

?Intellectual Information Engineering Course / Electric and Electronic Engineering Course, School of Engineering
?Graduate School of Science and Engineering
?Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Sustainability Studies

Each group received an introduction to ongoing research, followed by laboratory visits. The delegation showed great interest in the research being conducted at the UT and actively engaged in discussions.
